When it comes to having a successful SAP licensing audit, remember the acronym “ECC”:

1. E - ELIMINATE inactive user accounts and also inspect the need for accounts with low-activity. After that, continue by identifying duplicate accounts and ELIMINATE them too.

2. C - Carefully COMBINE all user accounts of the same employee from multiple SAP systems to a single employee record. Since an employee can use multiple applications, this is a crucial step in achieving good SAP licensing.

3. C - CLASSIFY each employee according to the most appropriate license type. Don’t count on the current license type but re-inspect it carefully according to volume of activity, the type of activities done, etc.

These are amongst some of the most worrying words that enterprises and managers can hear.  And, yet, they are a part of day to day terminology- whether whispered behind  soundproof board room doors, discussed openly by upper management or colleagues addressing them casually over the wate...

If It Ain’t Broke, Don’t Fix It
